Arsalan is working as Trading Manager at Pacific Exim PVT LTD since 2014. He is looking after all sales and purchase of chrome ore from Pakistan. Highest exporter of refractory chrome ore from Pakistan to China and Japan. Pakistan is pioneer to export chrome ore. Education MBA in 2008. Previously worked in Citi bank and Byco Petroleum. Arsalan is a regular speaker in Chinese conference and represent Pakistan market.
Mr Arshdeep Singh, Director at Vital Solutions, a Singapore based commodities trading company which provides value-adding services and solutions in the global paper and ferrous supply chains including providing risk management and financial solutions. Prior to this role, Mr Singh was the Global head for ferrous raw materials at the US commodities multinational Cargill for over 14 years. Prior to Cargill, he was with the Indian steel major Tata Steel.
Armed with more than 14 years of all-rounded experience in leadership roles within the commodities space, Ms. Ashima Tyagi currently holds the position of Associate Director, Economics, at the Pricing & Purchasing team, S&P Global Market Intelligence. Her expertise lies within the metals and mining domain, encompassing macro-economic research, pricing, procurement strategies & data analytics. She has several white-papers, podcasts and conference presentations to her credit, which offer her independent and unique perspective on macro developments, steel’s linkages to economic growth within various industrial segments, global value chains as well as international trade.
In her previous role, she served as Assistant Director at the Indian Steel Association, New Delhi, representing at the highest levels in the Government of India offices as well as international bodies like worldsteel. She has a master’s in Business Administration degree from Amity Business School, New Delhi and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
Atilla Widnell is the managing director and co-founder of Navigate Commodities. Navigate Commodities provides real-time monitoring of dry bulk commodity supply chains using its proprietary Maritime and Satellite technology. He has 15 years experience as Head of Ferrous Scrap & Iron Metallics research at CRU Group, Head of Research for Steel Raw Materials at Metal Bulletin, and Executive General Manager at Mysteel.
Atul is a Partner & Associate Director with Boston Consulting Group in Jakarta office, where he focuses on advising clients in steel, process industry and infrastructure sector across Asia Pacific. He has over 30 years’ experience in strategy, transformation, general management, marketing & sales. Besides BCG he has worked at BlueScope Steel where he led marketing, strategy & innovation functions across Asia and N. America, as well as at Tata BlueScope Steel Ltd as a board member. Prior to that Atul worked at Alcoa Asia Pacific as Director Strategy and Biz Dev, Alcoa Singapore as Managing Director, and at Asia Pulp & paper as General Manager.
Jin is Director – Commodities at the SGX. His responsibilities include development and enhancement of bulk commodity products focusing on iron ore and coal.
Before joining SGX, he was a trader at Pavilion Gas and Hess Energy Trading Company where he covered LNG and freight. He started his career at Glencore in 2003 where he was on the graduate trader programme in the London office before being transferred to Singapore as a gasoline trader.
Jin has an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
Sebastian Langendorf is the CEO and founder of Meranti Steel Pte. Ltd., a company focused on coated steel for international building and construction markets. Meranti Steel also is a JV partner of JFE Meranti, a Myanmar based producer of coated and painted steel. Sebastian is a Board Member and the Co-founder and former CEO of JFE Meranti.
Prior to his work for Meranti Steel and JFE Meranti, Sebastian worked for five years at NS BlueScope in Singapore, first as Manager for Strategic Finance, and later as Head of Capital Projects for Asia and North America. Before that, Sebastian worked in project finance on natural resource projects across Africa. He also spent several years in strategy consulting with Bain & Company in Europe and as Legal Counsel with the World Bank in Washington DC. Sebastian holds a law degree from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and an MBA from INSEAD. He is married and has two daughters, 11 years and 9 years old.
Edric joined the LME in 2014 and is based in our Singapore office, where he is Head of Corporate Sales in Asia. He has many years of experience in commodity price risk management. Previously, he worked at Mizuho Bank and was responsible for marketing commodity derivatives and advising hedging strategies to corporate customers. Prior to that, he worked for a world-renowned airline, managing their jet fuel risk book.
After being a teacher of international trade in a trade school for two years from 1986-1988 and working in a global trading company for four years. Found Million Link Shipping Ltd., the first of Million Link companies in 1992 in Hong Kong, then Million Link (China) Investment Ltd. in 1999. The companies have been operating as a group since then. Hill Summer has 30 years of experience running his multinational trade and logistics businesses, practicing the systematic theory of international trade and law in challenging daily business operations, working based on global cost comparison and value investing discipline. He built up ISO9001:2015 into the trade organization, utilized the balanced scorecard in the management, and developed ERP software for the unique trade model. Under his leadership, the company became a consolidated material trader, structural financier, and equity investor.
Being relied on the well-established metallurgical market in China and focused on the fast-developing metallurgical market in India, his vehicle of business tries to bring world economic power to the two Asian giants.
With present position as the “Head of Sales & Marketing” of BSRM Group, the leader in Steel Sector of Bangladesh, Mr. Imtiaz is responsible for generating revenue of around 1.5 billion USD equivalent for the group.
In recent past he was the “Head of Supply Chain Management” of the same Group and managed scrap procurement to steel distribution cycle successfully.
He has been in the steel sector for 14+ years with total work experience of 21+ Years.
Post graduate (MBA) from a reputed University he has received training on SCM, Sales & Marketing, Trade, Negotiations from home and abroad.
Achievements of him includes but not limited to implementing Steels Supply Chain structures in Bangladesh from scratches, introducing efficient work flow among wings like SCM, Production and Sales & Marketing, contributing in ERP implementation, contributing in Strategy and Policy Making issues, restructuring Sales to be more resilient and sustainable, restructuring marketing and branding to create own spaces etc.
He has been invited as speakers in many international conferences and seminars to speak about steel, raw materials, market challenges etc.
Onson leads Cargill’s International Steel business on strategic and business development activities, with a focus on providing customers in the ferrous value chain with supply chain and price risk management solutions. Onson is also responsible for developing new markets and products within the global steel industry. Prior to this role, he was based in China developing and managing Cargill’s China Steel flats trading business.
Osama is the Director Ferrous Scrap at Better Deals which is the largest ferrous and non-ferrous brokerage house in Pakistan and act as a sales arm of the world’s leading finished steel producers and Recyclers. Osama joined Better Deals (his family business) back in 2005 at a mere age of 20 and has helped the company grow to handling around 2 million metric tons of steel per annum. Osama has witnessed the market crashes of 2008, 2014 and of the most recent crash due to covid in 2020 and has successfully steered his company through these troubled times and helped his hundreds of business associates both in Pakistan and abroad do the same. He is also actively involved in building a not for profit cancer hospital in Pakistan.
He is an engineering graduate from prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and MBA in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. With 28 years of International Business experience, Mr Mishra has worked in various industries having lived in various countries in Asia including India and Indonesia. Based in Singapore for last 20 years, he has led trading desks in Minerals and Metals sectors. He is currently the Business Head for JSW International Tradecorp (JITPL), the flagship trading arm of JSW Group, a conglomerate with a large presence in Steel, Energy and Cement sectors. JITPL trades in dry bulk commodities including Coal and Iron Ore.
Sachin Patel serves as Senior Director, Metal Products, Asia Pacific, for CME Group, based in Singapore. He is responsible for expanding CME Group’s metal business and developing new opportunities across the region.
Prior to joining CME Group in September 2017, Patel spent ten years in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Commodities division, where he covered numerous roles across trading, structuring, as well as sales in metals, exotic options and commodity index products. His most recent role was managing the commodity derivatives sales and structuring business for investor clients in Asia Pacific. Patel began his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London in 2007 before relocating to Singapore in 2009, and has extensive experience working with clients across major Asia Pacific markets.
Patel holds a Master of Science degree in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Warwick.
