Dr Ankur Dana is the CEO of DANA Group of Companies (www.danagroups.com). He joined DANA Group’s Steel Coil Service Centre division in July 2005, and was initially responsible for operations for the company. Dr Ankur’s involvement in strategic planning has been critical for the long strides of success DANA Group has taken in the recent years. DANA’s Steel division (www.danasteel.com) transformed it’s operations from a 5000 MTpa Service Centre to a 400,000 MTpa Flat Coated Steel (GI/PPGI/PPAL) products manufacturing facility.
Prior to his experience in the steel business, Dr Ankur completed his bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery from India, and also practiced medicine for one year. Later on he also did his Executive MBA from Dubai.
Dr Ankur Dana was awarded the YUVA RATNA award in 2018 & He has also been recognized & honored as Next Generation Leader by Forbes Middle East Magazine for the last 3 years (2017, 2018, 2019).
Rane has more than 27 years’ Experience in Heavy Industry mainly Steel & Fertilizers and he is associated with NALCO water >10 years now.
Prior to joining NALCO, Rane has worked in Steel plants on shop floors Managing various Operations. He worked with HADDED(SABIC) managing Water systems for integrated Steel complex of Flat & Long products. Prior to this he also worked with NEELACHAL ISPAT NIGAM LTD as Dy. Manager Water Systems.

Davinder is Senior Partner at Synergy Capital and brings with him unique industry knowledge, management skills and turnaround expertise and has helped Synergy deploy and oversee US$ 880 m, along with co-investors, in several investments.
Synergy Capital is a private equity fund manager that focuses on the industrial, metal & infrastructure sectors and has invested in several assets worldwide. Synergy deploys deep industry knowledge, operating expertise, discipline, and ability to design structures for each investment opportunity.
Before Synergy, Davinder had a successful career at Arcelor Mittal spanning over twenty years, of which the last ten years were served at the Group Management Board level. Arcelor Mittal is the world’s largest steelmaker.
Davinder led large businesses during his time at and within Arcelor Mittal: as Senior Executive Vice-President and CEO of Africa & CIS, he was responsible for the mining and steel businesses in South Africa, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Algeria; he oversaw and led Arcelor Mittal International, an entity that exported steel products of the Arcelor Mittal Group to territories where it did not produce steel; he headed Shared Services responsible for Purchasing, Shipping and Logistics, Legal, IT, Real Estate and By-Products management. He was also the CEO of Arcelor Mittal South Africa, a large company quoted on the Johannesburg stock exchange.
In addition, Davinder was a member of Arcelor Mittal’s Investment Allocation Committee and the core Mergers & Acquisition team. Davinder acquired highly transferable techno- commercial skills, a global view and expertise in the performance audit, benchmarking and restructuring during his 35 – year career with Arcelor Mittal and Steel Authority of India Limited(SAIL). He is uniquely placed to advise and support businesses in emerging out of crisis and assuming market leadership.
Davinder has an MBA along with an undergraduate honour’s degree in Physics (B. Sc) and also has a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree.
Mr. Devvrat Moondhra is Director of DURO STEEL AG. He graduated from Boston University with a bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Mr. Devvrat joined the steel industry in 2007 after working at Credit Suisse in New York as an investment banker. He has held several roles across distribution, service centre and trading businesses of Steel.
Presently Mr. Devvrat resides in Dubai and manages the entire global business of DURO STEEL AG.
Dr. Arup Kumar Chattopadhyay has a rich and coveted experience of more than 46 years in leading refractory industries like Dalmia Refractories, ACC- Refractories Division (Now ACE-Calderys Refractories), TRL Krosaki (formerly Managing Director of Tata Refractories Limited) in various business functions & was pioneer in introducing innovative products/services which helped the organizations to achieve phenomenal growth under his stewardship.
He is an M.Tech in Chemical Technology – (Specialization in Ceramic Tech) & completed his Ph.D. (Tech) in ‘Kinetics of Dehydration and Rehydration of Aluminum Silicate Systems’ from Calcutta University in 1970. Dr. Chattopadhyay has been conferred with ‘Distinguished Life Member of Unified International Technical Conference on Refractories (UNITECR)’ for his stupendous contribution in the field of refractories.
Till date he has presented more than 80 technical papers in various National & International seminars & published technical articles in Tech journals & proceedings round the globe.
Dr. Chattopadhyay has been awarded Best ‘Refractory Technologist’ Award in 1996 from Indian Ceramic Society. He was the chairman of Indian Refractory Maker’s Association from 2006 to 2010, President of Indian Ceramic Society from 2013 to 2014 and President of Indian Institute of Ceramics from 2015 to 2016. Member of Editorial Board of journal China Refractories. Member of National Advisory Committee of Asia-Pacific committee of glass and allied industries. Chairman of Refractory Sectional Committee MTD-15 of Bureau of Indian Standards (Two consecutive terms).
Kishor Rajhansa is a climate change, energy, and sustainability leader with a professional experience of 27 years at leadership positions in multi-national advisory, international regulatory and government organizations.
Currently, Kishor is working as Chief Operations Officer at Global Carbon Council (GCC), Doha, Qatar. He is primarily responsible for designing and operationalizing the Global Carbon Council, a CORSIA and ICROA approved global voluntary carbon market that is first ever from MENA region.
He holds bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering as well as degree of Masters of Technology in Energy Management and MBA in Finance. He is a certified expert in climate and renewable energy finance from Frankfurt school of finance and management.
He is the acting member of expert panel developing climate mitigation standards of UNFCCC (CDM Methodologies Panel).
Prior to taking current role at GCC, he worked for 10 years at United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Germany as Team Leader and Project Manager of Standards Setting Unit. In earlier years to that he served a lead agency of India-European Commission Energy Cooperation Programme as Energy Engineer and Ernst & Young as Manager, offering the services on energy management, climate change and sustainability.
Mr. Mandeep has more than 3 decades of experience in the Steel and its related Industry. He started working with BHP Steel (now called BlueScope Steel) in 1992, worked in different geographical locations. Presently owns steel trading company (Steel Masters International) and manufacturing facility (Dependable Steel FZE) for cold formed buildings and other building components such as Composite Decking, Purlins, accessories and service centre.
Mr. Mandeep is an Electronics & Communications engineer with master’s degree in Business Administration – major in International Business Marketing & minor in Finance Management from University of Wollongong in Australia.
He has been affiliated with numerous prestigious steel mills and board member in few steel companies across the globe.
Onur Yigiter has been the chief executive officer of AMSTEEL since 2017. He has been working since 2008 in steel and steel-related industries.
He started his steel carrier in Arcelormittal at Luxembourg headquarters as a business analyst for various business development activities in the distribution segment.
After completing almost four years, he moved to Doha to establish a distribution network end of 2011. After two successful years, he moved to Jeddah to extend the sales force.
Significant sales increase in GCC led Onur Yigiter to be the Head of GCC and East Africa sales of ArcelorMittal.
2017 Onur Yigiter took the CEO position of AMSTEEL to establish bulk and break bulk operations in King Abdullah Port.
He successfully turned the King Abdullah Port bulk and break bulk terminals into the most efficient port of GCC; on the other hand, more than 300 units of truck transportation business were established.
Today AMSTEEL is handling more than 4Mil tons of various cargo and growing rapidly by servicing all the key steel mills of Saudi Arabia.
Onur Yigiter is an industrial engineer holding master of business administration from Sacred Heart University Luxembourg campus.
Mr. Rajesh is a strategic and accomplished leader with over 28 years of success in directing all aspects of business operations, such as strategic planning, finance, risk management, business development, P&L responsibility, sales & marketing, human resources, process improvements and business expansion across the UAE.
In 2008 he started his career in the steel industry by joining Madar Emirates for Building Material / Madar Steel Industries. In 2017 Mr. Nair was promoted to General Manager and he currently holds this position. He oversees the accounts of over 500 clients and daily operations of the business with 360,000 MT reinforcement steel bar yearly and other building materials.
Mr. Rajesh has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce & Auditing from University of Kerala, India.
Saeed Khalfan Al Ghafri is Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates Steel Arkan. In this role he manages Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain departments with an inspiring vision to foster the groups’ growth plans and develop innovative solutions for potential challenges.
Prior to his current position, Al Ghafri was Chief Supply Chain & Planning Officer. He was responsible for managing the company’s procurement, as well as inbound/outbound logistics and warehouse management. He is one of the key players who contributed to Emirates Steel’s establishment and key expansion projects, playing a leading role in the creation and operations of the company’s supply chain management.
Al Ghafri brings to his role more than 17 years of industry and executive managerial experience.
Tanmoy has more than 13 years of experience working at the highest level with global metals & mining players, financial and asset restructuring firms. He has both worked at consulting, operations, overseen projects in iron & steel making, due diligence, energy transition and techno economic appraisal of projects at some of largest plants across India, S-E Asia, Middle East, Europe and in North America with Tata steel, JSPL, Emirates Steel, Arcelor Mittal, Thyssen Krupp, STELCO Canada, Nucor, Cleveland Cliffs, Rio Tinto, Ministry of Investments etc.
Tanmoy is currently working with Frost & Sullivan, as a Consulting Director, leading the metals & minerals team globally with a special focus on Iron & steel consulting. Prior to this at TATA Steel, Tanmoy was managing the transformation team by managing capital projects for one of the world’s most technologically advanced steel plant.
His expertise spans across consulting, business performance enhancement, strategy, operations & energy transition. Previously, he had worked as an Operations Manager in Jindal Steel to successfully commission 3.0 mtpy integrated steel plant with $50 million budget in 8 months and actively worked on various key improvement projects across the globe with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bio Steel, Lhoist for increasing operational efficiency managing digital transformation.
Back in 2018, Tanmoy managed the Transformation Group to proactively advise c-suite executives led significant investments in the iron & steel and global commodities, among other sectors based out of New Jersey, USA. Tanmoy led due diligence, asset valuation and operations improvement of multiple plants intended for either acquisition or financial restructuring.
According to Tanmoy, “ green steel and clean energy transitions need to have economic merit and business rationale, and the Frost & Sullivan team leaves no stone unturned in designing the most capex/opex efficient product portfolios to ensure the lowest “carbon premium” possible considering market and technical feasibility, process, digital technologies and economics of operations.”
Tanmoy has close to 20 publications in energy, materials, economics. He is a frequent speaker at various technology forums like AISTech USA, METEC, Germany etc. Tanmoy has BS Degree in Metallurgy & Materials Science & an MBA from Indian Institute of Technology, IIT, Kharagpur. Outside of work, Tanmoy’s interests include long distance running and experiencing new cultures. Tanmoy splits his time between Kolkata, India and Dubai, UAE. He is a keen soccer enthusiast and an ardent fan of FC Bayern Munich.
Mr Sharma is a leading Technocrat with more than 38 years of experience in Steel, Power, Cement, and Mining Industry. Mr Sharma is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with Post graduation in Business Administration (MBA).
